Description:

Corn silk is a collection of the stigmas of the female flowers of the corn plant.

Properties:

Corn silk is a diuretic and contains a large amount of potassium.

Healing Properties:

This herb contains anti-inflammatory substances as well as mild diuretics.

Ailment Treated:

It is used for problems with the liver, kidney, bladder, and urinary tract. Corn silk is also beneficial for people with high blood pressure, PMS, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Side Effects:

May cause dehydration in children.

Do NOT use if:

Do not take with the blood pressure drug Quinapril (Accupril) or Warfarin.
