Recommended Dosages

People have been using herbal remedies for thousands of years. It can therefore be postulated that receptors in our cells have been fine tuned to absorb natural materials. Modern medicine, on the other hand, has been making artificial compounds (drugs) to deal with specific health issues. These compounds have, in a way, deprived us from the natural remedies and have left our bodies starving for natural compounds. When we start using herbal remedies, our bodies absorb them immediately because the herbal remedies are satiating the need for natural materials. The effect is so strong in some cases that benefits are visible in just a few days. Unfortunately, it is at this point that people make a crucial mistake. They either stop using the remedy or lower the dosage and their problems resurface. Herb usage in the short run may have positive effects, but it is meant as a long-term treatment that enables the body to adapt back to a more natural, drug-free state in which it is able to solve certain bodily problems through natural means. Therefore, we at Herbal Sciences recommend using herbal remedies for at least 2-3 months or there is a good chance that immediate positive results will be lost.

Many herbs work indirectly by regulating the bio-mechanism, metabolism, and other processes in our body. Consequently, our body can revitalize itself and attack problem areas, resulting in a healing effect. This is actually the best way to take care of an ailment. Going against the source of the problem rather than going against the problem itself results in more time effective and efficient treatment, and strengthens the system against similar future problems. Modern medicine is well developed to deal with the same problems, but in many cases only attacks the problem, not the source. The result can be beneficial, but only in the area that the drug was designed to work, not the system as a whole. There are many cases in which modern medicine cannot heal recurrent bodily problems, but only deals with them as they arise. Herbal remedies, on the other hand, strive to strengthen the system and give it the materials it needs to not only heal, but also prevent the problem from surfacing again.

A simple example of this principle is inflammation. A sore throat is nothing more but an inflammation caused by viruses or bacteria in the upper respiratory channels. Using NSAIDs (Non Steroidal Inflammatory Drugs) or painkillers temporary relieves sore throat problems, but our body is still under attack from the virus or bacteria. A better approach to the problem might be to strengthen the immune system and allow the body to fight the virus or bacteria at its source, not just cover up the problem. From customer testimonials, it is evident that recovery is very quick, the body feels energized throughout the ordeal, and there is a smaller likelihood that the problem will recur if the herbal remedies are used on a consistent basis.

We recommend the following use of our herbal remedies:

Single product:
We recommend that tincture usage be carefully evaluated. We suggest that you start using a lower dose at the beginning to test for any side effects and allergic reactions. Herbs are generally safe, but some people might not tolerate some herbs and may get allergic reactions such as skin redness or rashes. Starting with a lower dose may prevent severe negative reactions. Thus we recommend that you start using one (1) dropper-full of tincture once per day, preferably before bedtime for 2-3 days. After that increase the usage to one (1) dropper-full in morning and one (1) dropper-full before bedtime. The dosage can be increased after the third day if severe condition(s) warrant a larger dosage. For large dosages we recommend using two (2) dropper-fulls in morning and two (2) dropper-fulls before bedtime. No matter what dosage you choose, the treatment should continue with that dosage for 1 to 1 _ months. At that time we recommend that you stop using the tincture for 1-2 weeks and then repeat the treatment or use the tincture as necessary (prevention). The dosage highly depends on your condition, body weight and many other factors. Only a physician/naturopath can assess the situation and give correct advice if you are unsure of what is best for you.

Some tinctures work best if complemented with ointments. For instance, drinking a tincture and applying an ointment to affected places can best help inflamed joints caused by arthritis. The tincture may help regulate bio-mechanisms and the ointment may directly help with local inflammation problems. For example, use the Rartrin tincture and ointment concurrently.
